Plastochron

Plastochron is a collection of soundworks developed through interpreting graph information to compose soundscapes that are proposed as plants themselves. The work challenges ideas of presence and introduces the recognition of life forms through assimilation and biomimicry. The resulting pieces capture a period of growth undergone by the plant and allow the audience to observe the changes that take place over days within minutes as the patterns form undetermined melodies and scales expressed using vocal samples, drums and a modular synthesiser virtual studio technology.
